Speaking to FNA, Iranian Air Force Lieutenant Commander for Training General Manouchehr Yazdani said that Iran has achieved desirable progress in designing and producing simulators in the past 3 years.
As regards Sukhoi-24 simulators, Yazdani said the Ukrainian and Russian military advisors who saw the Iran-made simulator for Sukhoi-24 have acknowledged that the Iranian version is much advanced and better than its foreign rival.
He added that Iran is studying building or upgrading simulators for Mirage fighter jets and PC-7 aircraft and many other jets.
He added that Iran has started using F-14 simulators since 3 years ago after the existing simulators were updated and optimized.
Senior Iranian military officials announced in September 2010 that Iran gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing simulators, adding that the country possessed more than 800 home-made simulators then.
In August 2010, the Iranian Army started using two home-made Cobra Chopper simulators in an airborne base in n Iran's western city of Kermanshah.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential military hardware and defense systems.
In September 2011, the Iranian Air Force's first squadron of home-made Saeqeh fighter jets started operations during the large offensive air drills codenamed "Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III" in Northwestern Iran.
The country has repeatedly made it clear that its military might is merely based on the state's defense doctrine of deterrence and that it poses no threat to other countries.
