An American Airlines jet flying from Denver, Colorado to Dallas Ft. Worth on Wednesday diverted to Pueblo Memorial (PUB) when a burning smell was detected in the cabin.

KDVR.com reports

‘According to Pueblo Fire spokesperson Woody Percival, the plane was on the ground and safe as of 1 p.m. Shortly after that, emergency crews were working to unload the passengers from the aircraft, and towing the plane into the terminal area.

The plane that ended up diverted to Pueblo was American Airlines flight number 880, and that the aircraft landed at 12:44 p.m. — just 28 minutes after taking off from DIA.

Percival did not have any specifics about the cause of the burning smell, which was reported to his office around 12:33 p.m. He had no injuries to report.’

The aircraft was an MD-80.
